Micro-Bio is Ireland’s only chlor-alkali manufacturer, producing high-purity Sodium Hydroxide, Hydrochloric Acid, Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Chloride and Purified Water Solutions. We support the biopharma, pharmaceutical, dairy and water treatment industries with products manufactured directly from raw materials, not pellets or intermediates, ensuring complete traceability and control from source to supply.

Micro-Bio operates as a cGMP and ISO 9001:2015 certified raw material manufacturer with a dedicated facility in Ireland. In-House Laboratory Capabilities

Micro-Bio has been operating our electrolytic membrane cell process for over 40 years, as the first commercial membrane-cell plant in Western Europe. This process recognised as the Best Available Technology (BAT) produces high-purity Sodium Hydroxide, Hydrochloric Acid and Sodium Hypochlorite to the highest global standards. A recent multi-million-euro investment in next-generation electrolysis technology has strengthened our position as an industry leader. This upgrade has significantly reduced our energy consumption, and when combined with 100% renewable electricity, supports both our sustainability goals and those of our customers.

Our Production Plant

Micro-Bio has been operating our electrolytic membrane cell process for over 40 years. We were the first commercial membrane cell plant in Western Europe and are the experts in this field. The membrane process is the BAT (Best Available Technology) for the production of High Purity Sodium Hydroxide, Hydrochloric Acid and Sodium Hypochlorite.
